This list covers the most common services we provide. If you have a computer-related problem that does not seem to correspond to any of the services listed below, please call us, we may well be able to help you with it.

Windows/PC troubleshooting – If you have a PC that is misbehaving, we will come to your home to troubleshoot the problem, and in many cases, fix it on the spot. If the problem turns out to be more serious, or requires parts that we do not have in stock, we will provide you with a repair quote, and if you desire, return at a later date with requisite parts to complete the repair. We support all Windows operating systems, from 3.1-XP.

Apple Macintosh troubleshooting – Mac problems are our specialty. We offer full support for Mac operating systems 7-9, as well as OS X. As for PCs, more serious problems may require return visits to complete the repair.

Computer training – Brainspiral offers private lessons on a wide variety of computer topics. We give these lessons in your home, using your own computer. We offer lessons on most computer-related subjects, tailored to your needs. Examples of popular topics are:

  • ‘Understanding your computer’ – An overview of how your operating system works, and its useful features – or how features in one operating system correspond to features in another, useful if you are migrating from Windows to Macintosh, or Mac OS 9 to OS 10.
  • Creating a web page – An introduction to creating your own website on the internet, either using software tools such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, or by learning the HTML, the programming language that describes web pages.
  • Digital photography – Setup of your digital camera, and an introduction to programs you can use to edit your photos.

Alternative or more advanced lessons can be created as desired.

Website development – We specialize in web site development. We will help get your site up handling design to implementation.  Our graphic designer has been designing websites since the early ’90s (yes the very beginning).

Website hosting – Brainspiral is proud to offer hosting services. Let us register your domain, build a site, and make it public to the world. Refer to the Rates page for the current charges – or contact us for a quote.

Home networking setup – Want your home to be wired? Wireless? We can help you install and set up a home network that connects all of your computers to a single internet connection, to each other, and/or to a network printer. Call us for a quote (see the ‘contact’ section for our phone number).

Ebay auction management – Want to sell something on ebay but don’t know where to start? We can either give you a lesson on the workings of ebay (see ‘computer training’), or sell your item ourselves for a small commission. Call us for a quote (see the ‘contact‘ section for our phone number).

Purchasing Consultation -  Looking to purchase a new PC or Mac for your home or office, or upgrade your network equipment, or add equipment to your current setup? Not sure what type of equipment you need or should get? Please contact us and we will be happy to guide you through the whole process.

A/V –  Brainspiral is constantly undertaking new projects.  We have worked on various projects in the past years that have involved highly sophisticated audio and video installations.  From multi-zone, whole-house distributed audio to acoustically perfect, surround-sound equipped home-theaters, Brainspiral would be happy to manage your AV project.
